Course Info:
Enjoy 84 river miles on the Desolation Canyon section of the Green River in Utah. This is a beginner friendly 8 day desert whitewater rafting trip. We will float through desert canyons past cottonwood lined beaches, and visit ancient and modern human history sites along the way.
Throughout the trip, the group will learn wilderness medicine skills and work toward their Wilderness First Responder certification. Class will be held on the river as well as in camp each morning and evening. While the WFR certification is the focus of this trip, we will also explore hikes and historical sites along the way.
This is a Hybrid Wilderness First Responder course with 30 hours of self-paced, online work followed by 50 hours of class time on the river. The online material is available on Canvas one month prior to the river trip and consists of reading, case studies, videos, animations, and quizzes. The online material must be completed by the first day of the river trip, April 7th.
