Logistics Position – Leadville, CO

Course Equipment Specialist

The Course Equipment Specialist supports DMM’s wilderness medicine education programs. This role is responsible for organizing, cleaning, inventorying, and preparing course equipment and materials to ensure high-quality, field-ready program delivery.

This is a part-time position based at DMM headquarters in Leadville, Colorado. Average hours per week will be highest in the busy season (March through May) and lower in summer and fall seasons.

Administrative Position – Leadville, CO

Admissions & Customer Service Officer

The Admissions Officer serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and enrolled students at Desert Mountain Medicine. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing student enrollment processes, supporting certification and continuing education pathways, and ensuring administrative excellence across DMM’s educational programs.

The Admissions Officer works closely with the Director of Instructional Operations (DIO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and other DMM team members to improve systems, support students, and uphold the organization’s commitment to professionalism and equity in wilderness medicine education

A three-year commitment is preferred. Position scope may evolve upon annual contract renewal.

Field Position – Remote Locations

Course Instructors

The Instructor Training Course (ITC) is designed to familiarize qualified candidates with Desert Mountain Medicine’s (DMM) teaching philosophy, teaching techniques, and class management style. Instructor candidates will also cover the WFA or WFR industry standard “Scope of Practice” (SOP) and the DMM course curriculum, developed from the SOP.

We offer both a WFA and WFR Instructor Training Courses yearly. Qualified candidates are invited to join the ITC after a screening interview.
