Wilderness Anaphylaxis Training (WAT) Recertification

The Wilderness Anaphylaxis Training recertification course is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, trip leaders, guides, outdoor educators, and land agency field staff who may have to administer an epinephrine auto-injector to others in an emergency while working, traveling and/or recreating in the backcountry. This training focuses on the understanding, recognition and treatment of anaphylaxis as well as emergency follow-up procedures.

Wilderness Anaphylaxis Training is included in all courses. The length of approval is determined by varying state epinephrine laws. Thirty-three states have passed “entity laws”, which permit trained individuals to utilize epinephrine in case of an anaphylactic emergency in accordance with the state they are practicing/guiding in. View a list of the various states and their respective laws here.
