Course Info
This is a Hybrid Wilderness First Responder course with 30 hours of self-paced, online work followed by 50 hours or 5 days in person learning. The online section is available on Canvas® approximately one month before the classroom section begins and consists of reading, case studies, videos, animations, and quizzes. The online material must be completed by the start date of the classroom section.
Registration Information
This is an open enrollment course and will be held at the historic Freight building in Leadville Colorado. Freight was once Leadville's original train depot, but it has since been converted to exist as a vessel for the community. Their mission is to spark culture and encourage creativity. The space hosts weddings, meetings, pumpkin patches, craft fairs, corporate retreats, film festivals, photo shoots, prom, quinceañeras, lectures, concerts, and theatre performances. There are lots of recreation opportunities close by including camping, hiking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, and hot springs!
