Topics include: assessment and management of multi-systems trauma patients, pain management, a review of complex environmental medicine case studies, the assessment and management of mental health challenges in the field, and tips and tricks when faced with extended patient care. Our WEMS-R course is offered in a 2-day format and meets the WMEC's minimum requirement of 16 hours delivered in person, devoted to hands-on, practical skills and simulations.

Course Location

Jackson, the namesake town in the valley known as Jackson Hole, is the beating heart of this famous destination's upscale rustic scene. Western mountain town chic meets serious outdoor offerings: In the winter, skiing (regular, cross-country, snowcat, and heli-), takes center stage; while in summer, there’s plenty of hiking, rock climbing, fly-fishing, rafting, biking, camping, and hot-air ballooning.

This course will take place in the conference room at the Teton Country Fairgrounds.

Planning Your Trip

April weather in Jackson will likely be wet and it may rain or snow. Temperatures are often in the 20's at night and 50's during the day. Like all mountain weather, the conditions can change quickly. Be prepared for mountain conditions if you are camping, and keep an eye on the forecast when packing for your trip. A puffy jacket is a must 12 months of the year!

Lodging rentals abound in Jackson and the surrounding area.  There are also many different campsites in the area, both paid and dispersed. If you're considering camping,  be sure to give the Forest Service or BLM a call if you have questions about current rules or restrictions.

Specifics for your course like location, a packing list, and meeting times will be available on your Student Dashboard once you've registered.  Questions before you register? After you register? Always feel free to reach out to [email protected] and we'll be happy to help.

Private Courses
