Course Info
You've dug your ski partner out of an avalanche debris field, now what? Our Wilderness First Aid (WFA) for Winter Backcountry Users course is designed for the outdoor enthusiast, ski guide, snowmobile guide, or anyone else who spends time traveling and recreating in the winter backcountry. The WFA-WBU is a great introduction to wilderness medicine and basic life support skills with emphasis on cold weather considerations. This training focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment of environmental illnesses, recognizing and stabilizing life threats caused by trauma, and calling for a rescue in the event of a wilderness emergency.
The 2-day (16-hour) Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course includes basic life support (CPR infant/child/adult & AED), Wilderness Anaphylaxis Training (WAT) and covers injuries and illnesses common when traveling or working in the backcountry.
Registration Information
This three-day course is offered in conjunction with Colorado Adventure Guides and consists of a two-day WFA-WBU followed by one day of AIARE Avalanche Rescue. Click here to register at the CAG site, or email [email protected] for more information.
