Course Info
This is a Hybrid Wilderness First Responder Recertification Course with 8 hours of self-paced, online work followed by 16 hours or 2 days in person. The online section is avaialble on CANVAS approximately one month before the classroom section begins and consists of reading, case studies, videos, animations and quizzes. The online material must be completed by the start date of the classroom section.
This course will take place 100% outdoors at Gold Bar Group Site, a group campground located on the Colorado River 15 miles NW of Moab, Utah off of Potash road (HWY 279). Lodging (camping) is included in the course cost. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM the day before the 1st day of the course and check-out is at 11:30 PM on the day after the last day of the course. Class starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 6:00 PM both days.
Registration Information
This is an open enrollment course that will be held at Gold Bar Campground just outside of Moab Utah. Gold Bar is a beautiful camping area in the desert along the Colorado River and about 30 minutes from Moab town center. With in minutes of the campground there are hiking trails to arches, petroglyphs, petrified dinosaur tracks, rock climbing, canyoneering, and river activities.
