Course Info:
This is a Hybrid Wilderness First Responder course with 30 hours of self-paced, online work followed by 50 hours or 5 days in person learning. The online section is available on Canvas® approximately one month before the classroom section begins and consists of reading, case studies, videos, animations, and quizzes. The online material must be completed by the start date of the classroom section.
This course will be held at Echo Canyon River Expeditions in Cañon City, Colorado and is open to the public. Many of the students are river guides, so our scenarios will favor situations that may arise in a river environment. While injury and illness scenarios will be framed in a river context, treatments are universal, and those seeking a WFR certification will find the information relevant to any activity they pursue.
